Saturday 9, may 2026 {HMC} The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, along with a delegation he is leading, has arrived in Djibouti City, the capital of Djibouti, where he will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the country’s re-elected President, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh.
President Hassan Sheikh and his delegation were warmly welcomed at the airport in Djibouti by the Prime Minister of Djibouti, Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, along with other officials, reflecting the strong brotherly ties and cooperation between Somalia and Djibouti.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is among the Heads of State from the Horn of Africa and other invited officials attending the inauguration ceremony. During his stay in Djibouti, he is also expected to hold meetings with senior Djiboutian leaders and other officials.
