Somalia’s Minister of Defense, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, held talks with his Turkish counterpart, Yaşar Güler, on the sidelines of the SAHA 2026 Defense Industry Exhibition in Istanbul, as the two sides explored ways to deepen bilateral defense cooperation.
The meeting focused on strengthening military ties between Somalia and Türkiye, with discussions centered on boosting the operational capacity of the Somali National Army as part of broader security and defense collaboration between the two nations.
